RiKY RiCK AND EMTEE LEAD SAMA RACE - @rikyrickworld @EmteeSAAnd number four seems to be the magic number, as most of the nominees announced at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani yesterday scooped themselves no less than four nominations.New kid on the block Emtee, Nomvula hitmaker Nathi and Riky Rick each have four nominations.

The country’s most talked about and popular rappers did not cut the four nominations mark.Flashy rapper Cassper Nyovest did not get a single nomination, while Prince of Mzansi rap AKA sailed through with just two – for best collaboration and best remix of the year.

Emtee stole the show as he rolled in with four nominations – album of the year, best rap album, male artist of the year and newcomer of the year.Riky Rick is up for the male artist of the year, newcomer of the year, best rap album and best music video of the year awards.

Nathi is also reaping the rewards of his hard work with nods for album of the year, newcomer of the year, male artist of the year and best R&B/Soul/Reggae.DJ Black Coffee is in the running for album of the year, best dance and male artist of the year awards.

Other nominations include Karen Zoid, Judith Sephuma, Tresor, Fifi Cooper, Kabelo Mabalane, Zonke, Zahara and The Muffinz.

The awards ceremony will take place on 4 June at the ICC in Durban, KZN.
